Korvai is a temporary art installation designed to evoke the memories of Coimbatore through the voices of its people. The installation was developed and executed in collaboration with three other design studios from the city.
The wireframe sculptures of the spindle, video camera, smelting pot and wet grinder stood as markers of the city's heritage.
The audio boxes played memories collected from the people of the city in their voices
The description panels added context to the stories that were being narrated by having a short writeup about the time period.
There was also a recording studio where visitors could record their memories of the city.
The entire installation was set up along the Valankulam lake in collaboration with the Young Indians as part of Coimbatore Vizha 2022.
